Sixteen F-104 and 42 F-86 sorties were flown as CAP, but there were no engagement; only one enemy track was seen which came over Lahore. F-104 was scrambled and taken as far as Amritsar at low level and high speed; probably it caused a sonic boom over Amritsar and was reported by India as having rocketed Amritsar. Three planned missions of four F-86s and two F-104 each were flown thrice but the enemy did not come up.
