• National integration and harmony

IT IS OUR WAR: THREATENS OUR WAY OF LIFE?

• Represented by the values of democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance and social justice (DFETS), As given in Article 4 of the Objectives Resoluation
• The nation wants to live with moderation as per "Thus have We made of you an Ummah, Justly balanced, that you might be witnesses over the nations.” Quran (2: 143)

• The nation has (barring one or two exceptions) always elected moderate political parties throughout our history

IT IS OUR WAR: NON-STATE-ACTORS THREATEN ALL?

Non-State-Actors (NSAs) make no discrimination between civil and military targets which even an external enemy does under the internationally acclaimed rules of war

THE POLICY (COURSE OF ACTION) OPTIONS

• Victory is not absolute, can vary between:

Total destruction
Stalemate
Neutralizing the adversary
Decisively defeat the adversary into a non-entity and force it into meaningful negotiations, from a position of clear strength

• Recommended Course: Decisively defeat the NSAs and force a negotiated settlement from position of clear strength

THE POLICY (COURSE OF ACTION)


This maybe called a policy or course of “ HOPE” :

• Healing Touch (by all Instruments of State-craft to our own people for assimilation back into the national main-stream), to create,

• Opportunities to further National and National Security beliefs/ ends and

• Pursue decisive military operations against the NSAs to force them into our national way of life in order to shape an,

• Environment for launching the requisite decisive political and socio-economic offensive for lasting national integration

“ENDURING HOPE” PROMOTES VITAL NATIONAL INTERESTS

This should create an Enduring HOPE of:

• Lasting national integration vs. fears of a polarised society

• A truly secure people and state vs. fears of danger and paranoia of perpetual internal and external enemies

• Sustained national economic well being vs. periodic financial crises

• A truly favourable regional and global environment vs. isolation

• Peoples' Security vs. only State Security, and dominated by a few

• Creating a truly homogenous society (through promotion of our national purpose/values of democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance and social justice) vs. a fragmented polity

CONCLUSION

• The executive shall have to ensure that every political move and military operation is directed towards these clearly defined, decisive, and attainable objectives:

All political leaders in turn must be made to understand and agree with these strategic aims through a debate in the National Assembly and

Subordinate leaders are to set appropriate objectives at the operational and tactical levels, and ensure that these aims and objectives are achieved and that they contribute to unity of effort

The executive is to ensure that all people and the military personnel develop belief in the National Values and all ends defined by this policy (course of action)
