This
squadron too was established at Mauripur on 15th June, 1956,
and was equipped with Sabre F-86 aircraft. In September 1965
it was shifted to Sargodha under the command of Sqn. Ldr. M.
Arshad. It took part in Kashmir operations from 1st to 5th
September, 1965, and in the war against India from 6th to
23rd September, flying a total of 193 sorties of 231:15
hours. Flt. Lt. I. A. Bhatti shot down two Indian Vampire
aircraft and damaged one Indian Gnat.
In December, 1971 war, the squadron moved to PAF Murid, and
participated in missions against the enemy comprising
strikes on airfields, close air support, A.D.A., and C.A.P.
In June, 1975 the squadron was re-designated as No. 15 Air
Superiority Squadron.
